DOT Substance Abuse Professional

Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional (SAP)

Specialized clinical assessments for DOT-covered employees following a violation related to substance use or mental health impairment. Compliance-focused evaluations, clear recommendations, and documentation that align with 49 CFR Part 40.

Who SAP Can Help

This specialized program is designed for individuals governed by the Department of Transportation (DOT) who play critical roles in the transportation of people, products, and materials. SAP covers the following operation administration:

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
  • Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
  • Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
  • Maritime Administration (MARAD)
  • Pipeline and Hazardous Materials and Safety Administration (PHMSA)

Our program offers comprehensive evaluations for employees who have faced violations stemming from positive urine drug screens, those who have declined to undergo urine drug testing, as well as individuals who voluntarily seek assistance for substance use issues. These evaluations aim to provide the necessary support and intervention to help re-establish DOT employees in their professional roles while ensuring the safety and welfare of the public. Our commitment is to facilitate recovery and promote a safer operating environment across all transportation sectors.
